Pageant Information

Each year at the AWSC Workshop (which is held in the fall, Oct or Nov) a Miss Snowflake Queen is selected to represent the Association at various events throughout the state during her one year reign. A pageant is held for young women between the ages of 16 and 22. The winner will receive a $1500 scholarship to help further her education at the end of her reign.

The Miss Snowflake Pageant is not a beauty contest.  The Queen is selected based upon her knowledge and enthusiasm about snowmobiling as well as her ability to communicate information about our sport.

Specific information relating to the 2017-2018 Miss Snowflake Pageant will be available in early August 2017.

The first thirty (30) applications will be accepted and applicants will receive confirmation of acceptance from the AWSC office.  Our current Miss Snowflake, Erica Keehn will be in touch with applicants once they have been accepted in the pageant and she will have all the details of the forthcoming weekend.

Applications for the 2017-2018 Miss Snowflake will be available after the summer Director's meeting.   Deadline for submitting applications to the AWSC is 4:00 pm on Friday, October 6, 2017.

The qualifications are as follows:

  • Must be a current (family) member of the AWSC.  If 19 years or over, MUST be a dues-paying AWSC member.
  • Ages must be between 16 and 22 at the time of the pageant.
  • Single.
  • Must have a sash that identifies her sponsoring county or club.  Sash should be on a white ribbon with black letters.
  • Must be able to attend the AWSC 2018 Convention in March in Green Bay, WI.
  • The Queen must reign during this event and is also encouraged to attend at least one (1) Directors Meeting during the year.
  • NO contestant is allowed to smoke or drink alcoholic beverages throughout the pageant weekend. A violation is cause for immediate expulsion from the pageant.

Judging of the contestants will be held on the weekend of the AWSC Fall Workshop.  The crowning of the new Miss Snowflake Queen will be done during the AWSC Workshop Banquet Saturday evening.   The Miss Sparkle award, which is selected by her peers as the most friendly and helpful throughout the pageant, will also be announced at the banquet as well.  The $50.00 entry fee will include Saturday night’s dinner, registration fees and a pin.

All contestants must attend the dinner. Parents of the contestants are encouraged to pre-pay their dinner and workshop registration fee prior to early registration deadline. Late registration can be accepted, however dinners cannot be purchased after the deadline. Please do not assume because your daughter is in the pageant that we provide a dinner for you.

Miss Snowflake represents the AWSC at the Annual Workshop (Oct/Nov), Annual Convention (Mar), Directors meetings, snow shows, Hay Days in MN, Eagle River Derby.  In addition to these activities, she is invited to various club and county events throughout the state during her reign.  The hosting club is responsible for her mileage and expense costs to these club events.

If you have had a contestant in the pageant before, you know that this is a wonderful and fun experience for any girl to help represent her home organization.  Our sport depends upon young and old alike.  This is a great way to get youth involved.  It is well worth the effort and time for both your club and the contestant. We urge you to support your contestant!
